On Friday, June 30th, Motivation Foundation Romania launched the &#8220;Independent and Active Community&#8221; research report at an event attended by partners from the Independent Living Services Partners, Supernova Sport Club Neam\u021b, Sport Club Association The Lions of Timi\u0219oara and the Association of Independent Club in Bra\u0219ov, their local collaborators working in the area of services for people with disabilities, representatives of the Romanian Society of Neurology, the Civil Society Development Foundation, the Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategy (IRES) ), Who also carried out the research, as well as independent experts in the field of disability. The research report can be consulted here.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Launching the project \u201dPartners for Independent <\/strong><strong>Living Services\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 \u00a0Motivation Romania Foundation, in partnership with Clubul Sportiv Supernova Neam\u0163 Association, Club Sportiv Fii Independent Association \u015fi Club Sportiv Leii Timi\u015foarei\u00a0Association announce the launching of the project Partners for Independent Living Services.\u00a0The project aims to strengthen the capacity to provide and promote early intervention services for persons with spinal cord injuries, based on improved statistical data regarding their real needs.\u00a0<em>At the moment, there are no\u00a0updated statistics available regarding the total number of people with spinal cord injuries in Romania or the number of people who acquire spinal injuries annually. For this reason, there are barriers to creating and providing effective services dedicated to people with spinal cord injuries who use wheelchairs, so they can have\u00a0independent lives. The existence of relevant statistics would also supports creating\u00a0national and local policies in the disability field \u2013 this being one of the\u00a0 recommendations made by the \u201cInternational Perspectives on Spinal Cord Injuries\u201d \u00a0(IPSC) report, developed by the World Health Organization in 2013<\/em>. \u2013 Claudia Ungureanu, Project Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The project <strong>\u00a0Partners for Independent Living Services<\/strong> runs from January 2016\u00a0to\u00a0December 2017 and is co-financed by a grant from Switzerland through the Swiss Contribution to the enlarged European Union.
