{"id":60,"date":"2015-12-09T10:07:10","date_gmt":"2015-12-09T08:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/motivation.ro\/en\/?page_id=60"},"modified":"2018-01-03T12:15:51","modified_gmt":"2018-01-03T10:15:51","slug":"mobility-equipment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/motivation.ro\/en\/mobility-equipment\/","title":{"rendered":"Mobility Equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Motivation Romania Foundation is the only organization in Romania that provides individually prescribed wheelchairs along with independent living\u00a0training with the help of instructors who are wheelchairs users themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Motivation`<\/strong><strong>s<\/strong><strong> wheelchair provision program is centered on the concept that the wheelchair must be prescribed to meet the physical and functional needs of each user. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Specialists in the Motivation teams respect the wheelchair provision recommendations made by the World Health Organization. \u00a0In the assessment phase, they look at the size, diagnosis and needs of each user, as well as the purpose and the environment where the wheelchair will be used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">To ensure appropriate use\u00a0of the wheelchair and to increase user independence, the wheelchair should be accompanied by appropriate wheelchair handling training for each user and their \u00a0personal assistant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>The lack of appropriate wheelchair assessment, prescription and user training services<\/strong> can lead to\u00a0 side effects including permanent postural deformities and serious medical complications.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Each wheelchair user has the right to choose a personalized equipment that suits their mobility and positioning needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Once every five years, the National Health Insurance Agency covers the costs of a regular wheelchair.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">For people with mobility disabilities who need an appropriate wheelchair, but do not meet the criteria of the health insurance system, do not have the financial means to purchase mobility equipment or need complex adjustments, we created <strong>the Wheelchair Fund<\/strong>. Donations, sponsorship and long-term partnerships with The\u00a0Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and with Agape Foundation (Sweden), enable Motivation to donate wheelchairs to these users.
