This amount covers the costs for 15 wheelchairs that will reach, in 2021, to children and adults with mobility disabilities in Romania.<\/p>\n<p>The event organized exclusively online took place in mid-October and brought together people from both the diaspora and the country, who were able to contribute with donations the social projects proposed by non-governmental organizations in Romania.<\/p>\n<p>The ambassador of Motivation&#8217;s case was Andrei Chiriche\u0219, a young man with mobility disabilities who has lived in Germany since 2008: \u201cHere in Germany, one of the most important stages after the hospitalization and rehabilitation process is returning to your private environment and continuing your daily activities. This is possible when you have a wheelchair adapted to your individual needs. So, my first wheelchair gave me the opportunity to finish high school, to start college, and for two years to have a full time job that I am proud of and that I do with great pleasure. Motivation Romania Foundation through the Wheelchair Fund project tries to restore the independence of the affected people, independence of which each of us is aware only when is lacking. A wheelchair brings with it social integration and vocational rehabilitation where possible and desired.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Wheelchair Fund is the project through which Motivation restores freedom of movement to children and adults with mobility disabilities all over the country, through donations of mobility equipment according to their needs. Beneficiaries have mobility disabilities from birth or acquired as a result of car accidents, diving or falling from a height.<\/p>\n<p>The mechanism of the project is simple: with the help of Swedish partners, used but quality wheelchairs are imported and refurbished in Motivation Romania Foundation&#8217;s workshop, and then donated to people in need, based on individual assessment made by regional Motivation teams.
