Our purpose is to refurbish and donate 15 appropriate wheelchairs and to give back freedom of movement for as many people with mobility disabilities. Also, on the occasion of the event, we will share the news on the #EnAbleParking campaign and the importance of the dedicated parking spaces for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The wheelchairs that will be donated within the project will go to people with disabilities from Gala\u021bi and Br\u0103ila counties. They will be prescribed by the Motivation team in Gala\u021bi, based on the needs of the users and according to the WHO recommendations. During the wheelchair assessment process, the team at Motivation will use the BodiTrak pressure mapping system, which is unique in Romania and helps to prescribe appropriate mobility equipment to prevent pressure sores and other medical complications which frequently occur in spinal cord injury population.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Come join Motivation in donating 15 wheelchairs to #EnAble people with disabilities to move around safer and easier! More info on the project is available (in Romanian only) <a href=\"https:\/\/semimaratongalati.ro\/cauze\/sustine-motivation-si-doneaza-pentru-scaune-rulante\/\">on the page of the project, by following the link.<\/a><br \/><strong><br \/><\/strong>Gala\u021bi Half Marathon 2021 takes place on May 23<sup>rd<\/sup> and it is the 4<sup>th<\/sup> edition of the event that brings #TeamMotivation at the starting line. Our team will include people with and without disabilities to promote inclusion. Gala\u021bi Half Marathon is a philanthropic sports event, organized by Funda\u021bia Comunitar\u0103 Gala\u021bi (The Community Foundation in Gala\u021bi). This year\u2019s edition will take place without public, within the range of 500 contestants registered for the common start, while respecting all the safety measures of protection against Covid-19, taking into consideration the pandemic context.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/semimaratongalati.ro\/inscriere-alergatori\/\">Registration is open on the website of the event,<\/a> for the following races:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Half Marathon (21 km) \u2013 common start and virtual run<\/li>\n<li>Cross country (10.5 km) \u2013 common start and virtual run<\/li>\n<li>Popular race \u2013 common start and virtual run<\/li>\n<li>Children\u2019s race \u2013 virtual run only<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The participation of #TeamMotivation in the event is part of a broader initiative of supporting the <a href=\"https:\/\/motivation.ro\/en\/support-motivation\/wheelchair-fund\/\">Wheelchair Fund<\/a> \u2013 the program that allows Motivation Romania Foundation to donate over 1000 refurbished wheelchairs for children and adults with mobility disabilities in Romania.
