The event will take place <strong data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"982\">Thursday, September 25, from 10:00 to 12:00<\/strong>, via Zoom. Seats are limited, and registration can be completed through the following link:<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/TYtNLwEWPp\"> https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/TYtNLwEWPp<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1343\">People with spinal cord injuries often experience difficulties with urinary function, which can affect their social life, professional activities, and self-esteem. Complications such as UTIs can be severe if not properly prevented.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1345\" data-end=\"1588\">The webinar aims to give participants the opportunity to gain valuable information and ask questions to a specialist, receiving advice on early identification of UTI symptoms, the role of bladder instillations, and other preventive measures.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1751\">The session will also include an interactive Q&amp;A, during which participants can receive clarifications directly from <strong>Dr. Neuro-Urologist Andrei Manu-Marin.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1753\" data-end=\"1981\"><strong>Attendance is free, but prior registration is required.<\/strong> The event offers a unique opportunity to learn effective strategies for preventing and managing urinary tract infections, promoting a healthier and more independent life.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1983\" data-end=\"2188\">Similar initiatives have been organized in previous years as part of broader efforts to inform people with spinal cord injuries about maintaining their health and supporting an active and safe lifestyle.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2190\" data-end=\"2193\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"2195\" data-end=\"2670\">The <strong data-start=\"2199\" data-end=\"2235\">European Urology Week initiative<\/strong> is organized by the European Association of Urology and brings together national urology societies, urology practitioners, healthcare professionals, patients, and their families to share common messages, aiming to <strong data-start=\"2450\" data-end=\"2519\">raise awareness of urological conditions among the general public<\/strong>. This year&#8217;s theme focuses on Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs).<\/p>\n<p>Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are among the most common infections, affecting millions of people. They are the second most common infection after respiratory infections and are significantly more prevalent in women than men. Approximately 50-60% of women will experience a UTI at least once in their lives.<\/p>\n<p>They are a major public health concern due to their high incidence and morbidity.\u00a0The financial burden of UTIs is substantial, estimated at billions of euros annually.\u00a0Understanding the prevalence, risk factors, and consequences of UTIs is crucial for effective prevention and treatment strategies.\u00a0That is why this year Urology Week is focussing raising awareness for urinary infections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>European Urology Week is an initiative of the European Association of Urology and will be observed this year from September 22 to 26.
