When you first set your eyes on him, you see this blonde kid with eyes like two black beads and a bright smile.

Only when you get to know him better, do you realize that his small head holds thoughts too loud for a seven years old child. Why I am different? Will I ever be able to walk?

He cannot understand why people keep asking what happened to him, why his classmates exclude him from their games, or why he remains alone, at his desk, during breaks.

Kristof is the third joy for his parents, their youngest. At birth, nobody foresaw that he would go through exhausting chemotherapy sessions, a complicated surgery for the spinal tumor, and countless therapies.

4 years out of 7, Kristof fought for his life

His mother was devastated by the news that her son would have to use a wheelchair. But it was even more painful to hear this tiny child say he wanted to die because he could not walk.

When I heard about the wheelchair, I said I will not have the likes of it in my house. Then, I saw that it’s useful for Kristof and it makes him happy, so I accepted, Kristof’s mother remembers.

 The wheelchair donated by Motivation Romania helps Kristof go anywhere, just like he wants: to school, in the yard with little Luna – his puppy, in the kitchen, to see what goodies his mother is cooking, around the house, happy to give his father a hand.

At Motivation, Kristof met a wheelchair user for the first time – our colleague, Adi. Then, he met other children at our camp, which he attended this summer. They played and laughed together, he did not feel excluded anymore, and some of the questions that haunted him faded away.
