About inclusion, at “Ion Barbu” Theoretical High School, from Bucharest

On November 9, we had the pleasure of meeting the sixth grade students from the “Ion Barbu” Theoretical High School in Bucharest, for whom we organized a seminar on inclusion.

The young people were impressed by Ianis’ story and the motivation that led him to continue going to school and follow one of his passions – basketball, they learned about the importance of diving prevention and listened with interest to the story of our colleague, Ciprian Lupu – Driven by Pasion, the first car pilot using a wheelchair in Romania.
The event ended with a test among the milestones held in the school yard, during which the children tried to maneuver the wheelchair safely.

We thank for this opportunity Mrs. Manuela Iliuță for her support in organizing this event.

Through the project „Advocacy for community access to wheelchair users”, we aim to support people with disabilities in promoting their rights and abilities. Thus, we create the conditions for increasing the degree of inclusion, at the community level. The project was implemented by Motivation Romania Foundation in partnership with the Segoia Association, with the financial support of Active Citizens Fund Romania, a program financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants 2014-2021.
