From 28 September to 2 October 2026, Urology Week is being marked as an initiative dedicated to raising awareness about urinary tract health and the importance of detecting and managing urinary problems. This year’s theme is “Kidney Cancer: Hiding in Plain Sight”, drawing attention to signs that can easily go unnoticed and to the importance of early detection.

For people with spinal cord injuries and similar conditions, urinary tract health is an important part of everyday life. Changes in bladder function may require specific urinary management methods and appropriate medical monitoring to prevent complications and support independence.

For this reason, this year Motivation Romania Foundation, in partnership with Dr. Andrei Manu-Marin, Neuro-Urologist at Evomed Clinic, is continuing its series of information sessions dedicated to the urological health of people with spinal cord injuries.

On 22 October 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, we invite you to an online session on Urinary Management for People with Spinal Cord Injuries and Similar Conditions. The session will be presented by Dr. Andrei Manu-Marin, Neuro-Urologist, and will focus on urinary management for people with spinal cord injuries and similar conditions.

The session is intended for people with spinal cord injuries and similar conditions (spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, etc.), their family members, and anyone who would like to better understand the specific aspects of urinary management in these situations. The discussion will provide useful information about managing bladder function, preventing complications, and the importance of a proper, individualized approach tailored to each person’s needs. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask the specialist questions and receive information about situations they may encounter in their everyday lives.

Participation is free, but prior registration is required. The event offers a valuable opportunity to learn effective methods for preventing and managing urinary tract infections, supporting a healthier and more independent life.

Similar initiatives have also been organized in previous years as part of information and awareness-raising activities focused on the health of people with spinal cord injuries, with the aim of supporting an active and safe lifestyle.

The Urology Week initiative is led by the European Association of Urology and brings together national urological societies, urology practitioners, healthcare professionals, patients, and their families, who share common messages aimed at raising public awareness of urological conditions.
